Two days before Christmas, when the tease of summer was upon us, we took a small crew of creatives and Chanel’s Cruise 2021 collection to South Cronulla beach to capture what we hoped would be the essence of a time year that now seems too often sentimentalised. As we publish on the eve of what is for many a new working year, we are both profoundly proud and grateful for the work we were able to produce. We are so very lucky that on this island in the sun, 2021 is already bright. Creative pursuit is possible, and across a plethora of industries, abundant. While the story started out as the summer we imagined ourselves having, it remains a series of pictures of the clothes we want to wear, and the skin we want to have – a case made a lot stronger by Georgia Fowler and the promise of a new year.
